We're from the Central Valley. Tulare County, Kings County, the valley towns most platforms don't think about when they talk about "local."
We watched neighbors try to find a reliable handyman, a plumber who actually picks up the phone, someone to clean their home before a family event. They'd post on the big platforms, wait three days for a bid that never came, or get matched with someone two counties over who had no idea where their street was.
We watched providers — real skilled people in our community — get buried under pay-to-rank systems that favored whoever could spend the most on advertising. Good work wasn't enough. You had to play the algorithm.
So we built something different. skilld.pro is a direct line between your neighbors who need help and the people in this community who have the skills to provide it. No bidding wars. No gatekeepers. No waiting around for someone to maybe get back to you.
